hood prop

I am looking to find a hood prop kit for a 1935 chevy. The hood prop kit need to be 34 inches wide. I cannot seem to find a vendor that has one . I have seen photos of cars with them installed. I think Vintique made them.

forgive me if the vision in my head is wrong, but wouldn't a junkyard car's hood prop cut down to what ever length you need, be ideal.. just mounted in reverse (i.e. the rod attached to hood and swings down to the fender held to the hood with bracket and clip that come from same donor car/truck?)

First thing that popped into my old head........Seems there has to be a "kit" for everything these days.

And the other problem. Junk yards around here do not have any old ones sitting much anymore. They have pretty much sold all the metal off.

Just make what you need. If you aren't big on fabrication this a perfect starter project. Post some photos of what your hood and engine compartment looks like and we can walk you thru making what you need. Everything is available at your local REAL hardware store. You can even buy stainless rods and components on line if you don't have a place near you.

Come on, let's MAKE what you need.

I have one of these and they work fanatastic for a 4 piece hood if that is what the OP is talking about.
