Hood scoop hight
I have a 7 inch tall Mopar style scoop for my Ram Charger.Does any one know what the street legal hight is in New Jersey ? I need it this tall to cover the 2 quads on a tunnel ram. Or is the aluminum scoop legal sticking through the hood? I really doubt it. I can loose the aluminum scoop and leave just the air cleaners and cover them with a 2" scoop for inspection but this would ruin the ram air operation. I'm trying to keep a low profile but its not working.

Hood scoop
The engine is together and running with the butterfly on the scoop hooked to the linkage on the 2 quads. I get all the forced cool air I need. I just need to know if it's legal to have it through the hood.At 5000 rrr's I'm at 525 hp. The truck flies and I don't want a ticket for something simple.Plus I need to pass inspection.

I couldn't find any relevant posts that were newer, but for future reference it is 3 inches of window obstruction. The law stipulates that if you take a straight edge and place it on top of the scoop you measure from the base of the window to the straight edge it shouldnt be more than 3 inches there. I was looking for the answer on google and came across this post. I am sitting at around 4 inches but never had any issues.
