Hood support/strut shock chart or dimensions

Went to the parts house and tried to get the open and closed measurements of some hood struts. NO luck. All they wanted is what year and model of vehicle I wanted them for.

I am needing a couple of struts for my trunk lid on my 47 chevy coupe. I have removed the original latch, installed hidden hinges and now the original support is not going to work.

Does anybody have the chart or know where to look??
Thanks

I found it. It was buried with the shock absorbers chart.

Here is a link to it. Pages 53-55.

The problem is you still don't know how much resisance it will have. Where you mount this as far as the leverage created could make a BIG difference from one shock to another even though they have the same length open and closed!

Austin Hardware and Supply..they have the gas struts up to 250 lb capacity and a chart of specs to allow the customer to specify the struts to suit their needs..They are an industrial supplier so you may need to go thru a jobber to buy from them..
