Hook Up Lincoln Square Wave Tig 175 Pro Welder

Hi Guys
Need To Know If I Should Use 6/2 (with Ground) Or 6/3 With Ground To Hook Up My Square Wave Tig 175 Pro Welder In My Garage And Maybe You Can Tell Me "why" Use That Particular Wire. Thanks Lenny

6/3 with the ground is Better If Your talking a 220 line which I think you are.
Reason 2 hots 1 common and 1 ground. hope this helps.

if your welder is 230v then you will only need 2 hots and a ground.

check your manual to see how much your welder will draw. if it only draws 30 amps then you don't need #6 wire, you could get away with #10.

Opps brain Burrp on my part. You only have 3 prongs. what was i thinking sorry Been helping a friend install a bunch of driers & stoves lately for a few extra Buck and I guess I had four Prong Out lets on the Brain.
