Hooker Side Mount Vette Pipes.

Just received the Hooker side mount pipes and installed them. Just couldn't resist firing it up without the mufflers! Damn! that sounds GOOD! It seems a whole lot louder than regular headers that dump under the car. It wouldn't make it 50' on the street that way though.. Put the mufflers on it sounds great too but just not the same. I'll download some new pics as soon as I can figure out get the file size small enough.

If the file is a BMP you won't get it small ebough. Save it as a JPG then download it. To do that open the file in PAINT or a similiar program then FILE, SAVE AS. When the windows pop up to where you want to save it, change it to a JPG extension. You just have to remember where you saved it to (folder) and what the JPG icon looks like. Piece of cake except when you are trying to explain it to someone. LOL!!

Are the side pipes legal on the street in your state? Here in Texas, I think there is an interpretation of the rules going on about the 12" termination in front of the REAR AXLE.

I asked a State Trooper and he said they are illegal on the highway IN ANY CASE.

An inspection station guy said he would pass them if they terminated 12" in front of the rear WHEEL.

My car is a 1933 Plymouth and I bought a nice set to install because of the space available under the frame....and they will look and sound great. Pretty sad deal when a guy can't get a definitive answer from anyone.

Does anyone know the ACTUAL rule in the various states...in particular TEXAS?????

I sure hope Washington state doesn't have a law like that. The mufflers extend about 2" past the front of the rear wheel well. We don't have vehicle inspections here so I'll find out soon enough.
