Red face Hooking up a new Carb

Hello all,
I am in need of some help, I am working on a 1965 Buick Wildcat with a 1966 401 nailhead motor in it here lies my problem : I am trying to connect a new Edelbrock Carb Model # 1407 to it. It is a 750 cfm 4 barrel well my problem is that I do not know how to connect the throttle linkage and the detent /kick-down switch ! If anyone has done this before could you please help me? I have called Edelbrock and they are of no help!

dunno if a 750 squarebore is the best choice on a nailhead motor... just sayin.

Anyway, what kind of trans do you have?

I Have a 66 Switch Pitch Trans 400. Why do you think that the carb is not the right one? I have to admitt that I am no expert on carberation at all, I spoke to the tech People at Edelbrock and they said it would work.........I had thought that the 600cfm would be the best but then I was told that this carb would work .Plus I got the carb at a good price "FREE" So Maybe this is not the best one?
What do you think is the best way to go?

Is your accelerator linkage rod or cable? I have a 1407 on my 406, with cable linkage. All I had to do was buy the Edelbrock stud that fit the cable. If you have a rod linkage, they sell a bushing with a hole in it that fits the carb.
You should be able to find those things at just about any speed shop.

Linkage

I have a Rod that is used for my throttle linkage but I also have to be able to hook up my Detent/Kickdown switch for my torque converter. Buick Made these transmission for two years they are called Switch Pitch transmission, That is how I can get 455 lbs of torque by hooking up this pull rod on my linkage
