Hooking up new CS Alternator????

OKay I bought myself a new pulley system from GMPP and I now have a very fancy alternator....the problem is I dont know how to hook it up.

It has the standard BAT terminal on back...I put that to the positive on the battery

And then I have a harness plug that has 4 all white wires. They are labeled on the connector itself not the wires.. They are labeled S, F, L, P

My question is how do I wire it up??....it came with NO INSTRUCTIONS!!

Most of the connectors for the CS alternators are four wire but will only use two of them and the wiring is the same as the SI.

S = a heavy gauge wire to the battery supply (horn relay)
F = not used
L = a small gauge wire that comes from the idiot light and energizes the alternator
P = not used

Hope this helps

Chet

Here is a link to an old thread that gives a little more detail on ways to hook the CS up depending on whether you have a warning light or running a voltmeter.

Just to follow up I got it hooked up...I read the other thread and used the F wire instead of the L wire. This baby works real nice....I can put everything on and the volts wont drop.

Thanks again for the help!
