Yep....The horn circuit was live all the time, when you grounded the horn button, it closed the circuit.
That is why you saw horns go off by themselves sometimes.....it would somehow get grounded
Funny you mentioned that. A few years back my daily driver/gas saver 93 Mazda Protege did that. Got real cold one night & the cover over the Horn button actually shrank/sucked in and the Horn has been stuck On since then. Skint/Cut my knuckles bad trying to unplug that ear Blaster.
