horsepower?? any guesses
i have a 327 that is bored .030. all that is done to it as of now is it has a performer carb 600 cfm, and a voodoo cam. anybody wanna take a guess to how much power im making??

Well with that little bit of info there's no way to even make an educated guess. How about cam spec's, compression etc???

yea i kno wut your saying, i just got the motor from a guy and dropped it in my cutlass so i haven't really got much more than that yet. just got it running late this afternoon. the guy i got it from wasn't a lot of help either.i put the cam in it has .560 lift and a duration of 243/251. other than that everything else seems stock internally. but like i said im goin to find out more about it just takes time. this is my first time trying to build my own motor so this is pretty much my toy.

yea your right but im going to be doing a lot of work to this motor and was tryin to get an idea of what i started with so i know when i finish it. but thinks guys

Son, you've made one of the most common rookie mistakes with your cam selection. The camshaft itself does not dictate the power made in a motor. It is just one part that must be matched with all the other parts in the motor to do a good job at whatever it is you want the motor to do. To do its job correctly, that cam will need a static compression ratio of somewhere between 10.5:1 and 12.0:1 and will make power from 3500 to 7000 rpm's. Without the proper parts and pieces to support this camshaft, you can expect the car to be slower than it would be with a stock motor. |

my first cam was a summit cam 234 244 488 510 with 1.94 1.60 fulie heads preformer rpm flat tops and a 600 cfm holley and it was still to big that was on a 355 IMO anyway
