Horsepower on ford 351 windSOR?

Here's a quickie. How much power do you all figure out of a ford 359 windosr with open chamber heads, 1.94"/1.6", ported ports, 9.1:1 static compression and is to go into a 1968 Cougar.

Gear ratios are optional with a C4 automaitic transmission. The torque converter stall speed is to be set at 2200 rpm.

I am curious as to what a nicely cleaned up and properly ported set of open-chamber '78 351 windsor heads with proper camshaft and intake...

How much Power?

Anybody?

The '78 heads will strangle anything you do to a 351W as they have the 'small valves'(1.78/1.46 valves). You need '69-'74 D0OE or C90E with 1.84/1.54 valves to even begin to think about performance. Additionally, they need the EGR hump removed from the exhaust as well as port matching.

With a nice camshaft and a streetable dual plane intake, a 600 or 650 cfm carb, a good Duraspark or MSD ignition, 300Hp +/-.

Add some GT40 or other good aluminum heads, a .030 over bore to 356cid, more cam - 350/375Hp.

These are great engines, but lotsa big horsepower out of them doesn't come easy (or cheaply)

Been there ......... :D
