Horsepower guess!! please
hey guys my motor is in the shop right now getting finished up. I would like some of you to tell me what you think my horsepower will be... (a estimate of course).. i dont live near any dyno's the closest one if about 5 hours away.. so any help would be appreciated.
heres what i have. to the best of my knowledge the motor should have between 10:2.1 and 10.5 to 1 compression ratio.. gen v 454 steel crank... eagle forged rods.. .30 over kb 25.5cc dome pistons.... lunati solid roller cam 663" 683" 249 255@50 lunati roller lifters pro comp rect port alum heads. 320cc intake. 115cc .. valves are 2.25..1.88 roller rockers.. shootout intake ... double roller timing chain. holley 850DP and a mallory ign system and headers.. let me know what you guys think. or if i forgot something important. i think i got it all.

HP estimate/BBC
At 461 cid I'd guess 1.25-1.35 HP/CID. Thats 576-622 HP. A lot depends upon the tune and combination of parts.

ya im not looking for a exact number just seeing what kind of number i can get people to throw at me. there are alot of sharp guys on here who know their stuff. thanks again

Sounds good not sure what the RPM range is on that camshaft.
Sounds like a lot of Midrange torque an HP. I'll guess in the 570 HP range. Sounds like it could use more carb. Low gears an good converter.

cam range is 2800-7200.. and gears righ now are 456 and a 3500 stall..would like to change the gear to like 410.. but building the motor took every penny so maybe here soon ..

My fancy computer software shows this...
578HP @ 6000RPM 578FT-LB @ 4500RPM you are making over 400FT-LB until 6500RPM where it drops quick. you are making over 400HP between 3750RPM, and 8200RPM.

Not big enough carb to make the most in my opinion definately not 8200 rpm

what would be the best carb for this motor.. I am going to be driving it on the street and I do relize it probably won't get any mpg anyway. But what would be best for the motor to make awesome power and be streetable at the same time thanks guys

i like a 1050 or 1250 if i was really worried with street driving no smaller than a 950 but you got a fairly agressive cam

Well, I don't really think you are really going to see 8200RPM.
For a street engine you can make the 850 work. you just aren't going to spin much past 6000RPM... For best results, cpankey226 is right on.
