Horsepower upgrade ideas???

I'm working on an '82 Cutlass Supreme with a 350 sbc that's getting roughly 350hp to the wheels. I want it to be pushing somewhere in the neighborhood of 450-500 horses, but I don't know where to start. Any ideas?

You'll get more specific ideas from some of these guys, if you'll give what you've already built into the 350 you have now. As in what cam, heads, pistons, intake and carb. info.

Also, what are you basing your current horsepower estimations on? Engine dyno? Chassis dyno? I am just curious, and I've encountered more than my share of people who "knew" their engines were making 400 hp, and in reality, they were closer to 275-300.

I'm not saying that is the case here, but before your set on where you're going, we need to make sure you have a good handle on where you are (power wise).

350 to the wheels on a 350 isn't overly difficult, but isn't the run of the mill build either.

I got an edelbrock 750 carb and a raised weiand intake. I'm running headers but they're not ported or anything. Also its only cast pistons and I'm pretty sure the cam is just above stock.

And don't worry siggy freud, my horsepower is based off of a chassis dyno

I find it hard to believe that a carb, intake, and headers will result in 350 RWHP. 18-20% loss in drive train would result in the engine making about 400HP.

Show us your rwhp dyno sheet.
