Hoses for a transmission cooler?

I am going to re-mount a trans cooler vertically from horizontally to the front of my radiator. (TH350 behind a 350 Chevy). To do so, I will need to replace the current rubber hoses that extend from the hard lines which come as far forward as the back of my front cross-member. Should I use rubber fuel line for this? Will the Sprectre steel-braided rubber hose work? Thanks.

NO, you do not use fuel line. There is a special high strength transmission cooler hose. You also want to be sure there is a good nipple on the edge of the tubing you are using. If you do clamp it onto a new tubing that was cut to lenth and has no nipple using two hose clamps next to one another is a good idea.

Using a flare tool on the line wouldn't hurt either. Just make sure to smooth the end of sharp edges or burr's.
