Hot Floors

I HAVE A 53 MERCURY CONVERTIBLE WITH A 5.0 & A O D
THE FLOORS IN MY CAR GET SO HOT THAT MY WIFE HAS TO PICK UP HER FEET.I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO,SOMEONE TOLD ME TO WRAP
THE EXHAUST,I DID & STILL NO HELP,I HAD A HEAT SHIELD PUT
OVER EACH MUFFLER & STILL NO HELP.I WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE WRAP
OFF & USE 2/12 in EXHAUST.I REALLY NEED SOME HELP.THANKS BOB

Move the exhaust away from floors or put dynamat on the floors. Check your timing and your valve lash and make sure you are not burning unspent fuel in your exhaust.

What Cool Rockin` said. Also check for a very lean fuel mixture. I used to have a camaro that did this same thing. It had a warped intake so it had a vacuum leak that was causing it to run lean. The floor got so hot by the time I got out of it my socks and shoes were soaked in sweat. Worst part about that was it was also causing the master cylinder to get so hot it was boiling out the brake fluid. I chased that problem for months before I figured out the intake was warped.

I had this problem on my vette, the heat sheild and insulation were missing. Once I got that back on, had no problems.
