Hot Rod Air???

Does anybody know what happened to Hot Rod Air? Their phones are disconnected. I have a 57 Chev factory AC dash control there along with the complete ac evaporator kit that I would sure like to get back. If anybody knows how to get in contact with David Stutts I would sure appreciate it.

Their web page is still up. But that doesn't mean all that much if they just locked the doors and walked away. There are a couple of contact references on their site, have you tired them all (maybe even try faxing them).

I ordered a system from Soutern Rods two weeks ago. I've been calling them and the unit I ordered is still not in stock "we're still waiting for the shipment to come in". Well I tend to get impatient about this stuff so I called today and cancelled. They told me they were having a little trouble with thier supplier getting units. Wonder if that had some effect on HR air?

I would not doubt that Hot Rod Air has folded during these economic conditions. I have a Southern Air unit that I purchased from Southern Rods years ago and wish I had never gotten away from Vintage Air. I will eventually get tired of it and rip it out and replace it with VA. I have steered away from HRA since they were started up with ex VA employees that tried to market their product by bad mouthing VA. I have never had a problem with VA and all the units are working great, some of them installed back in the early 90s.

VA is and has always been a higher quality product than the clone ripoffs.

Another ones on the run...

Well sounds like we are not the only ones. They have had our money and our face plate that we will now have to replace for our customer as well as pay for another unit! We had received email promising to get us out system and that yes they were having issues getting parts and that his wife had been sick. Well damn at least send me MY part and have the curtiousy of refunding me my money you ahve already charged!!!!!

As I posted early the boy is in chapter 11 and the people that are in the business I know don't think he can get out in this economy. AS for southern rod they import from CHINA so the boat probably is late but that said I had THE THERMOSTAT CONTROL FREEZE up ON a VA slime line panel before I GOT the console in the car they replaced it quickly ,big made in CHINA sticker on the replace. What an't made there now

Keep me posted if you hear from them. We used them only because at the time they were a Summit supplier and we are currently working on a Summit project. They had gotten a hold of him but he seems to have disappeared again! Gotta love the thieves in this business....karma is a bi***
