Hot Rod Art Contest - fortypickup da man!

Okay people, fortypickup has asked me to take the reins on this one as he's a little too busy to continue.

Many thanks for doing a great job, forty. I hope you'll still find the time to participate.

I would like to make a couple of changes regarding the 'rules'...

The first thing I'd like to do is extend the deadline for each contest - from now on, it'll be a monthly round, with 3-4 days voting at the end.
I'm proposing this because I've noticed some of you guys are finding it difficult to finish or even start your pics in the two week period. Hopefully, this way we'll see more entries.

Secondly, I suggest we make the poll open to all members of the forum.
It's not just the artists who take part that view this thread, but everyone else, too. I don't see why their opinions shouldn't be counted.

Thirdly, I think it'd add a liitle spice if we have a leaderboard in place.
So far, the scores are as follows:

Malc.............1
Job~Rated.....1
79C10...........1
fortypickup....1

I hope you all agree that these ammendments should make it better. For all.

Okay, so on with the March contest.
fortypickup chose a 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner, like the one pictured below.
Gentlemen, start your pencils....

I'll give it my best shot , as usual !
I missed out on the voting last time due to being out on the road , but I dig the new rules.
Great work all , and best of luck !

Just a suggestion, but in the thread title somewhere could you put a month, a date or something so we can tell which is the latest contest? I don't check everyday but do enjoy checking out the talent you guys share. I'm old and forgetful.
Thanks, Dan

re: Hot Rod Art Contest - fortypickup da man!

Sounds good, Dan.

Since this thread has already started, this will cover March.
Future contest threads will have the relevant month in the title.

I ought to mention that since I'm in the UK, the midnight deadline won't be the same for you guys over there in the U.S., bearing in mind the time zone differences.
Just be aware.

I also propose a deadline of 27th March, leaving 4 days of polling for the next bout to begin on 1st April.

As of now, there's 12 days & counting....

First a BIG shout out to Job~rated for taking the Bull by the Horns! I like the changes in the rules he has implemented.

Need a break from pounding on metal.

Couldnt stay away from the contest! Thought I should participate in the subject I chose!

Heres a line art drawing of the Starliner! Still needs work.

re: Hot Rod Art Contest - fortypickup da man!

Closing time for entries is midnight on the 27th, but that'll be UK time - I believe you guys are around 6 to 8 hours behind us, so that would make it around 4 to 6pm - to clarify, I'll say 6pm US time on the 27th March. Is that okay with everybody?

Only Racing, if you'd like to enter, post up & I'll gladly extend it for you. I'd understand.
