Hot Rod Jobs

Since I was really young all I have ever wanted to do is work on cars, through High school all I wanted to do was work on custom cars and hot rods. But I choose not to go to a tech school and went to college, it was a good thing I am sure, but now I want to get into the hot rod industry. Any suggestions on how to find these jobs? I would love to work at a hot rod shop but I don't really have any contacts in the industry. Anyone else gone through a similar situation that may have some advice?

TIA

Studeyman

re: Hot Rod Jobs

Good luck getting into it without the automotive degree under your belt. A friend of mine got a degree in pain and body work and went like 3 weeks hitting every shop within 30 miles of here looking for something and most places want experience. He finally lucked up and got on a place doing restorations.

I'm going for Auto Tech and am having a difficult time finding even an entry level job with no "job" experience - other than my own truck and the race car. Of course I haven't really looked super hard either.

If they want expierience and your good, but you dont got any,LIE ABOUT IT! they allways ask that question, then they want to see how you work. If they like your work, then bob's your uncle.
