Hot rod Mini

Hello fellow auto enthusiasts and hotrodders! I have not been to the forum in over a year, but I hope you won't hold that against me.

My wife has asked to turn her 2004 Mini Cooper into a hot rod for the company. I am used to the old muscle cars, etc.

Anyone have any advice, suggestions or cautionary tales? We already have a ridiculous issue with the power steering going out for no reason. The Mini is 2004, manual, grey and black with wide konig wheels right now.

Any help is appreciated!

Mr Q - aka Gary

Awesome!
For performance: There is a supercharger kit available for these cars. Or you can build a turbo system.
Looks: needs more low. At least 2 inches lower. Ditch the wheels, they're very ricer. Check out some diamond racing steelies, or maybe some low offset bbs. Chrome has to go. Door handles body color. Grill and headlight trim satin black.
Do something with the front. Matbe an aftermarket lip or chin spoilers?
Darker window tint (15-25%)
Then of course a good exhaust.
Wire tuck in the engine bay.
New front seats.
Short shifter.
That should be a nice car.

Inspiration. I'm digging the white roof and mirrors. Nice Euro look. Those are the bbs i'm talking about too.

hOT ROD mINI

Thanks Big! That is a good start. She seems to have a partiality to Chrome. She has wanted to put a big decal on the top of the car with our Company logo (QT), but I think it will ruin the look she wants.
Any favorite spots to look for kits?

If you put the decals on with the logo it will give a competition car look which may be good for you..Even some race stripes on it..

It might look okay with the new logo verses the old.. I may have to do a mock up with some copy and paste or something.

I say go with a vintage club racer theme on your modern Mini.
Polished Minilite Rims and a flag painted on the white roof is very 1960s competition Cooper. There was a factory supercharged option for the BMW produced Mini, you can probably find one for your car from someone who went either to a bigger SC or a turbo.
If she wants a different color, British Racing Green (there are several shades of it actually) is a nice choice. Or the old FIA- Spec American white with blue stripe paint scheme (British cars were green, Italians were red, French cars were light blue, American cars were white with a blue stripe). Either could be modernized with pearls, metalflakes etc. A gumball for numbers on the side and 4 driving lights are almost required in my opinion LOL Fender flares and a 2.25" exhaust tip minimum. Oh and some sports suspension will make that thing into a go kart. Some vintage inspiration:

I really like the yellow and it would look great with our logo. So far, that is the definite choice.

Here's some good companies to buy from. Ecs is the best for everything except forced induction. and they are the best company I've ever dealt with.
ecstuning.com
atpturbo.com
boostfactory.net
m7tuning.com
The most important thing for any euro car is getting the wheels right.
