Hot rod stance

Experienced rodders

Probably a question that is answered by it depends...

I am working to set up my suspension. Tubbed, ladder bars in rear and mustang 2 suspension in front. The overall wheel base will be approximately 95" (Short truck-Bronco repositioned rear to center of wheel well)
If spindle to rear wheel center line are "in-line" I believe that a
3-5" rubber rake is possible 31" MT sportsman pro's and they offer up to from 26- 28" front tire.

I have a bit of front frame mods to get the spindles in line, or I'll need to lower the back further which would screw up the look I want in the bed area.

To much rake may make a short wheel based vehicle look odd.
For a street rod/pro street look what would be a good range to shoot for.

For a car that sits basically "flat" appearing, it typically has .5 to 1.0 degrees of rake, lower in front of course, for a pro-street type look, that figure can go up to about 2-3 degrees down in front.

The BEST way to set it up is to put the actual tires/wheels under the body without suspension (or without springs in the supension) and jack the front and the rear up and down until you like the way it looks. That is your ride height, and you install the suspension to that height.

Yes, too much rake would make a short wheel base car look like a cartoon!

Four inches of rake over ninety five inches is very roughly 2.5 degrees.
You will lose that much caster angle at the front, and it will need to be put back somehow.
