Great! Check with big sign makers in your area as well as plastic fab shops. I am almost convinced to use a sign maker for the Mysterion even though I found Acry Plastics who are legendary bubble top makers for the old 60s customizers because the former vacu-forms the top instead of blowing it up with pressure. They say I can make the entire tool myself to fit in their machine saving me several $hundred, and the entire heating and forming process is done in one specially designed machine instead of a make shift pizza oven and 'blowing' table so quality control will be much better. They even said the top sized will be controlled using a proximity switch instead of by eye.

Do you have some pictures if the '27? Sketch of the finished design? Sounds like a wild show car!

Hey willys- I talked to the plastic shop in town... they will try a bubble if I want and they use vacuum forming also...BUT... they said ballparking at $1000- $2000. (no guarantees) I'll think on that! I uploaded some pics to my album, but somehow mine don't like to load so well... also they are old so don't show what I've done lately- the fin mocks are not in the pics, as are not the new radius rods and spring, etc. The grille is just a beginning guesstimate as I want to incorporate lights like BDR did. As more is done probably next month, I'll post some pics. Better go- rambling too much on a steering box post!!! Thanks!

You're right, photos didn't load. LOVE your 'J. Be great to get a shot of our two cars lined up across from each other at the starting line @ Famoso!

Do some more checking around for a plastic or sign shop. That guy obviously didn't want your work and priced it accordingly. See if you can find a guy that will work with you and let you make your own fixture. I think my top will come in @ about $800 and that is for three pops - two to mess up building the car and one final good one.
