the next time my dad's at the comp, i'll have to show him the question (he had a VW shop in AZ for a few years in the seventies, did mostly off-road, but a little track, engine-building, roll bars, some of everything).
funny this should come up - my jaw dropped a week or so ago when my dad and i were talking about 1/4 times, and he said 'oh yeah, i used to keep my 12-second timeslip on my bulletin board, wonder where it went"...
... this was from a vw bug. so running 13 to 15 shouldn't be outrageous... i'll have him post a reply when he gets around to it.
oh... and there was a post a while back (don't remember the topic, maybe in 'worst car you've ever had on the road') talking about doing a burnout in a stock bug - found a freshly paved road with a downhill grade, rolled the car backwards down the hill, and dumped the clutch. (had to replace the trans a few weeks after 3 or 4 of those, tho).
