Hot Rodder needs your prayers

A good friend of mine was in a head-on crash with a FedEx truck yesterday afternoon. He is in critical condition and in a coma. His name is Pete Green although everybody knows him as Pistol Pete. He is one hell of a guy and a fabulous pin-striper. I am rallying for people to pray for him. If you can we have set up a collection for Pete and his wife Melanie. They are like so many people today that have no health insurance and if and when he recovers, he will be out of work for quite a while.

If you want to know more you can see it here.

A life-changing occurrence can happen to each and every one of us in a heartbeat so enjoy your day and thank you for your prayers and support,

Walt

I just read this in my minitruck group....sad day. He sounds like a good guy.
I was just getting ready to fwd, the email to you right before I saw this thread.
There is a Paypal account setup for him right now along with a mailing address to send donations to. He has no health insurance and it will help out with the tremendous cost of the hospital bills.
Good Luck Pete
Later,
WEIMER

I think that mojo is a term used for people that don't want to admit there is a God.

The latest word on Pete's condition as of last night at 8:00 P.M. is : The blood clots in his brain are starting to recede so that is a very good thing. They are going to keep him in an induced coma for a while longer because when he starts to come around he become combative and tries to pull out tubes. The doctors are very encouraged by his progress and the fact that he has made it through the first 24 hours is a critical period.

I want to also thank everyone that has included Pete in their prayers and your money contributions have been a blessing for Pete's wife Melanie. So far there has been over $3000 in contributions and they are still coming. That's good because much more will be needed for the coming months.

I am always amazed at the way our Hot Rod world comes together in a time of need. We are all so competitive in everything we do but when a fellow Rodder is in need we always pitch in and get it done. You guys always come through, when the chips are down.

Thank you,Walt

I have been checking back on the link you posted Walt. There was a link to his website in there. The guy lays down some cool stripes.Hope he pulls through. Any car meeting head on with a truck is usually bad news, but if you can make it to the hospitial in one piece is definently a good start to recovery. I hope your friend gets out soon and gets back at it. I also was reading where alot of the guys are pulling parts to build him another Bug to get him going, and alot of donations had been made too.Real cool outcome.

I thought that I would update you people on Pete's progress. First though I want to thank all of you that made contributions. You guys are the best.

Most importantly....Pete opened his eyes today...................... and acknowledged the people in the room. It was a small step but a huge success.

Thanks again every body for your support and prayers. He's not out of the woods yet but he is showing promise, and he will continue to need our help for a couple of months yet.

God bless you all, Walt
