WOW that car looks like some of the American cars built back in the late 40's and early 50's and has had a radical custom job.
I understand your problem with not being able to modify your engines legally, as I have heard this from a variety of other Europeans.
While doing things like installing larger carburetors, headers, bigger cams, and such may be out of the question, there are lots of inside tricks that can be pulled to help your car perform better that wont be viseable, except to the guy seeing your taillights as you pull away from him. Head work is probably one of the most critical things you can do, such as shaving the head or heads to increase compression, and doing a good porting job.
The sad thing is that unless you know some hotrodders in your area that have good knowledge of these things, particularly with your own home grown engines, its almost impossible to do this.

I am lookig forward to my project and I think its a quiestion of 5 years. I absolutely agrre that I have a lot of things to do on originall engine. I also found that after this car there was newer and with 3.5liter V8 engine and 165HP. But its noticeable thats its different engine.
And about the rodders here... I knew that here was some garage doing hot rods, but as far I know they didnt build a single one and got broken.

That Tatra looks really good chopped! I think the biggest problem with that would be getting the glass cut down.

That's an AIR COOLED V-8! For more info on the engine check www.mujweb.cz/www/tomasm/Motor_T603.htm .

This seems to be a specs page -- I can get a thumbnail with a Google search but can't open the full size image at work: www.sestsettrojka.euweb.cz/ test.htm .

It appears to have hemi heads???

Here's one showing the dual 1V carbs

The car reminds me of a 1955 Nash, except they stopped making the "turtle back" after 1952 (turtle back below is a 51 model).

This Pinin Farina concept for the 1958 Nash looks a bit sleeker, and maybe a little more like the Tatra:

Matt Dog, how about loading the pic you made in your album along with your scooter? My work e-mail blocks downloaded pics, but I can view the album.

Some of the links I put in my last post didn't show up for some reason. I'll go back and edit so the URLs show.

I'm at home now and can see the pick of the chopped Tatra 603. Looks like a Hudson Hornet in the back now!! Which is a good thing, by the way.

Hot Matt, why dont you buy a car from Sweden? Compared to Germany we got tons! of Hot Rods or any other car from N/A.

<John Cleeses voice> and now when we all are in the community togetter </John Cleeses voice> it must be legal to import a powermonster from here?

Itīs quite a pain here to change anything, even a steering wheel.
You can take a chance and swap your exhaust for a bigger one and get it authorized or you can buy stuff with a certificate for use on your vehicle.
To get something like an Opel Manta with an Opel Monza motor and running gear you can have it but built by a proffesional recognized workshop or manufacturer. I had to have my Monza lowered by the dealer then they got the papers written up for it.
That is why all the hatchback tuners here do mostly cosmetic stuff, and power adders must be legalised, but they know the stock setup anyway.
My Camaro was inspected by an engineer and written up, then I had to take it to the test center where the chief engineer verified it all. Most of my mods were done by then, when I swapped in the 355 who could tell, but the tester did say he knew the car, and something had changed ?
