hot to set carb

i just put an edelbrock carb on my truck, how do i set it, it idles to high and i don't know if the fuel mixture is good, i bought this carb used and did not recieve any instructions

The idle is set by a screw on the drivers side of the carb, near the bottom about half way back. The two screws on the front control your idle mixture. The check and see if it's rich or lean pull the plugs and look at them. The check and see if it's rich at WOT {wide open throttle} run it wide open in 1st or 2nd gear and kill the engine leaving your foot on the gas. pull the plugs...white or red is hot/lean, brown/tan is good and black is rich....
