Left Front wheel and rotor too hot to touch after only about 4 miles. Could it be Brake sticking? Others ok, barely warm.

Then I would say that the brake is sticking...but...there must be a reason...has there been any brake work done recently?, did it happen all of a sudden? How do the brakes feel, spongy peddle, hard peddle soft peddle, pulsating peddle? What happened before the brakes started sticking?

Thanx for the quick reply Ray, Before replacing a wheel hub bearing (LF), yesterday on my daily driver, I noticed the hot wheel. Also had a bit of a roar and narrowed it down to the left front wheel bearing. Got it all back together right before dark. After work today, thought I would just run a short errand, and noticed at the first stop, kinda spongy or soft brake, but did ok at all other stops. When I got home ,thought I'd just touch rim and man it was hot, and of course so was the rotor. Also still have a rparing sound when traveling down the road above 40-45, though not as bad as before the wheel bearing swap. May have another bad bearing. 118,00 miles.

It could be another bad bearing and if your getting the assembly that hot it could be cooking the brake fluid giving you a spongy peddle. Does it pull in any one direction with or without the brake being applied, if it does, then a sticky caliper could be a problem. What kind of car is it?

This particular car is my get to work and back 2005 Kia Spectra. Did not notice any pull to one side or other. I did notice that the pads will be replaced soon. Not squealing yet, but won't be long. Also, did not go far enough to first stop to heat fluid, I don't think. Maybe 100 yards. I do agree, though, that it could be another bad bearing, even if NEW. I was kinda hoping the bad bearing was on another corner of the car ( I mean the one that might still be causing roar.)

Does this vehicle have ABS? If so did you open the bleed valve when you collapsed the caliper?
