hotrod black comparison?

is there really any difference in low gloss black and satin black or are they the same? i can get low gloss black alot cheaper at tractor supply than satin black anywhere else.

As far as i'm concerned they'll do that same thing. If you're doing something that you don't want to be real shinny black either one should do. Where I've seen people start to care / differentiate between the two is in restorations. Sometimes when folks go for a real hardcore nuts and bolts restores they find out that certain parts were sprayed satin black while another might have been dipped flat black etc. All these things become important to them because they want the car / truck to be as close to the way it was when it rolled out of the factory. Unless you're doing something that i'm sure you can get away with either one.

If you are painting the exterior of the car, you want the sheen from a satin gloss not the dull flat like a bbq grill. Further, the paints at TSC are alkyd enamels and won't last nearly as long as an acrylic enamel or better yet a urethane product.

I used John Deer Blitz Black tractor paint on the exterior for a primer,satin look and love it and u can get it in rattle cans too.
