hotrod black, help I am painting soon

I want to paint my Pontiac hot rod black, I am looking for a satin, just a little more closs then flat. I have taken all the crome off and had it powder coated high gloss black, bumpers too. I have seen some flat black paint jobs that had stains and hand prints on them. I have heard there are some paints with seperate satin clear coats. I have also seen them with the clear coat mixed in the paint. I need to know which one will give me the satin finish and will resist stains. I would also love to know how to clean and care for the hot rod black paint job....Thanks guys for your help

it depends on what sort of paint you wont to use..in the passed i've just sprayed a acrylic lacquer with a clear and have not sanded the last coat..worked for me anyway..pretty hard to pull of a good flat black paint job..and even harder to keep clean.

kustom shop hot rod flatz. The easiest most durable satin paint I've ever sprayed! Very forgiving and almost impossible to make a run.

just as durable as any other single stage urethane! (and no, I don't work for KS) I've just enjoyed spraying their paints enough that I like to share.

Agreed! I've used it before and it's really good stuff. For the OP, just be aware that humidity will affect the degree of "sheen" along with between-coat timing. Consistency is the key!

I ahve used rustolum semi gloss black & is a perfect match for the ppg-epoxy primer .

It comes in a qt can white & green has a picture of wrotiron patio chair on it.

I put a little epoxy harder in it & the finish is very durable & can be washed
