hotrod graveyard

i found this old junk yard in oklahoma last weekend,i dont know who owns the place yet
i have asked around in the little town near the old place but most of the peaple i have asked dont have any ideal who the place belongs to.and others didnt even know it was out there
i havent went in to the junk yard yet in fear of getting shot but i have checked out some of the cars from the road
i havent seen anything newer than 60s cars and trucks
there is alot of 56 57 chevy trucks right at the front gate and then you can see a few 67 camaros behind them from what i can tell it looks like the ferther you go back in to the yard the older the caras get
im not to shure whats back there but im going to go back this monday after work and check out the place im going to take a cam with me and get some pics of what is all there
ill post them here for you to see

re: hotrod graveyard

Check with the county and get a plat book. It will have the name of the property owner, grab a phone book and give them a call. Good luck.

re: hotrod graveyard

You have just described lots of places in Oklahome. Tell me the town, I may be able to help. I spent 8 years in Oklahoma and did a lot of junk yard crusing while there. In fact I have a list of some of the places I wanted to remember. Now if I can just find the list!!

Barz has the best and most accurate ideal.

my grandpa has an old 53? chevy, looks like an old school snap=on van. It's just sitting arond looking cool but sadly rotting away.

as far as cameras go, hehe, I'm a "master old car photographer", sneaking into junkyards late at night and taking pics. There's one local to me with some t-birds and 1st gen mustangs I'll do a covert recon operation in come spring or summer. Send me in.

some pics are in my photo gallery. click on my avatar

Talking re: hotrod graveyard

I love old junk yard's, there's one up near my wife's folks place here in California. Its off Hwy 41 heading for Yosemite. I had heard a rumor it was closing this year as the owner is well into his 80's...but for now, here's some stuff I found of interest when I was there last summer...

Mercury Commuter wagon, no visible damage, tags expired 1977!

Rambler Wagon, tag's from 68, dented on the passenger side, nothing major, easily fixed...

Chevy Panel, owner of the yard was using this to drive the property!!

My personal favorite....

re: hotrod graveyard

Yea Dave, I hear that yard is still there but the rumors are still floating around about it. Its been 25 years since I was there at that yard. Its about 40 miles from here. I cant recall if thats the one off highway 49 out of Oakhurst or Raymond Rd. out of Coarsegold. Guess I need to go for a road trip. I was just in the area 2 weeks ago but didnt go by there ... well with the wife in the car and all I couldnt think of a good excuse.

Not sure of the road, but its left in Oakhurst & keep on a going...and its on the left. The In-laws live in Coarsegold, just before you get to the Casino off 41.
