Hotrodders.com Art Contest, August 2010 "Hot Rod Beverage Transports” Anything Goes!!

Hotrodders.com Art Contest, August 2010 "Hot Rod Beverage Transports” Anything Goes!!

Congratulations to the winner of last months contest, Johnny Jalopy, his artwork has been now a BIG favorite of the members and viewers of this contest. Since he won, his options are choosing the subject matter for this month which he chose instantly and I have to say it's definitely something we haven't done yet and an interesting subject.

"Quote" As he puts it in his description "Your Favorite beverage Hot Rod transport". So crazy beer trucks, Milk vans, Wine Barrel rigs, whiskey runners, soda cars.....anything that can transport your yummy drink what ever that is....Jalopy"

Johnny also opted to donate his $25 gift card to the "Freedom of Speech" lawsuit fund which will be sent in immediately and again I offer this as a token to your efforts along with the choice of the subject matter for the next contest by the winning artist. Once the winner is chosen, PM me with your mailing info and I will send it out ASAP.

This is wide open, last month we saw many different media's used and it was really close and original by all. Please feel free to open the members eye's to more as we have openings for 25 entries in the polls now for voting. Anything is acceptable in this contest we consider as Art, from drawing, comp generated graphics, line art, oil paints or media by pen and brush, not to be left out are creators of model cars, diorama's and whatever you feel is something cool in an art form.

The contest starts now August 2nd and will end on around the 26th of August with a new thread started for voting after all images are in the main topic. Here's to one great contest again as we head into the cooler months, after the hot ones we have had, a cool drink "Hot Rod Hauler" is an excellent choice !!

One word of caution is using drink company logos in your artwork, it falls directly into copyright violations and is very strict so please do not add someone’s beverage logo or modify one, this is a "no no" to companies. I believe photos or signs are legal.

Now play and enjoy !!

Okey, my central air system is kaput, and I had to take the day off to have it repaired, so I had some extra time. My original thought was to render a Difco milk truck of the late forties, early 50's, but am always drawn to those great snub nose trucks. Here's my "If you tap it, they will come" (which I read somewhere, but it was appropiate for this drawing). I will now start on my hotrod Difco milk truck, but probably won't complete it for awhile, because it's back to the grind tomorrow! Hope this month's super subject matter draws more participants than we've had in the past. Kudos to you Mark, for offering a handsome reward for the winner.

And my second contribution to this month's contest is entitled "Rapid Transit Cola". I'm still stuck at home until the central air is replaced, so I figured I'd draw! They'll be all done today, so it's back to work tomorrow, for sure. I still have to do my Difco milk truck when i have some more free time.

Man, I can't believe I'm doing another one! This free time is great - I think I'll retire! Here's my Difco Moo Mobile.

Great start brickyard, I think I have something special for this month. I have been babysitting my 2 year old grandson and sure enough he loves cars and trucks, so he got me thinking and we are working together this week to make something together.

Also, I have this facebook thing going to help out what we all do here and have some fun. Mine is more drag racing involved but there are alot of guys that like art as well. this is a post on Facebook I just made, I can't add the script to a post here since it's an actual script so here is a screenshot.
