Hotrodders.com Art Contest, September 2010 "Pro Touring Machines, Any Year and Style”

Hotrodders.com Art Contest, September 2010 "Pro Touring Machines, Any Year and Style”

Johnny Jalopy doubles up his win again choosing this months subject. This one may just be the toughest yet, those low slung "Pro Touring Cars or Trucks" in any variation, Canyon Carvers, Handling beasts and so on, It's all in the new style of road demons of this age. Any body style, and year, just make it handle and look mean. Johnny in the last few months has become the guy to beat, I hope everyone takes any media and gives it a shot, we are open to a maximum of 25 entries.

Johnny Jalopy scores a 25 dollar gift card, I offer this as a token to your efforts along with the choice of the subject matter for the next contest by the winning artist. Once the winner is chosen, PM me with your mailing info and I will send it out ASAP.

This is wide open, last month we saw many different media's used and it was really close and original by all. Please feel free to open the members eye's to more as we have openings for 25 entries in the polls now for voting. Anything is acceptable in this contest we consider as Art, from drawing, comp generated graphics, line art, oil paints or media by pen and brush, not to be left out are creators of model cars, diorama's and whatever you feel is something cool in an art form.

The contest starts now September 3rd and will end on around the 26th of September with a new thread started for voting after all images are in the main topic. Some examples are included below, Don't forget T buckets, Street Rods all can be a form of a Pro Touring.

Enjoy The Competition !!

Long weekend, some extra time, forget mowing the lawn, I think I'll do some drawing! The first one, "'69 Nova" is based on my Nova. The second one is a '34 Chrysler Airflow coupe which would make an excellent canyon carver. The 3rd is a '35 Desoto Airflow sedan, which is what we would like to do to ours. and, the last photo, I figured I would change up a little and create a comical college using my Nova and myself, about to rid the world of Pee Wee as I motor along. Again, like last month, I'm an early bird with my renderings, but I draw when I can, and had some free time to use, instead of waiting 'til the last minute.

Artrage is an inexpensive competitor to Corel Painter....

http://www.artrage.com/

There's a few versions from a free 2.5 version to the Studio Pro (arround $90 US)...

Cheers

Ken

I think that's exactly why a lot of people missed out last month. They got TOO busy!

In all seriousness, nice work so far everybody! I just have to finish something up and I should be able to toss something out.

Ok, Here's what I came up with. Resto-mod/pro-touring 69 Camaro Z28 with a Yenko inspired paint scheme.
