Hotrodders.com popup survey?

When I logged on to Hotrodders.com a few minutes ago I got a popup that said it was a Hotrodders.com survey. The fine print said the web site has not specifically authorized the survey but that it was getting paid for the promotions at the end of the survey. I closed the window because I wasn't sure what was going on. Is this something Jon is doing or did I just get this out of the blue?

Hmmm, that's what I thought. Thanks. Last night I was searching Google and when I clicked on a link nothing came up but one of those "error" windows that you can't close then it started downloading something and I had to rush to disconnect the power to my computer to get it to stop. I bet that's where this "survey" came from. I am in the process of updating my antivirus software and getting ready to run a scan now.

Ok now I know it wasn't something Jon did. I just got the exact same popup on another web site. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of them. They are "Online Surveys Center" popups.

EDIT: Apparently they are coming from GameVance adware that got installed on my computer.

Lads, there's a survey that came up when I posted to the Procomp Thread in the Engine Forum.

That particular survey is different. That is one members can create in individual threads. The one I was talking about was a separate pop up window. It clearly didn't have anything to do with this website. I ended up getting the exact same thing at some other web sites and I have since found that it was an adware program that had found its way on my computer, which I have taken care of.

Have never gotten popups on here.,.....

If you are using Mozzilla Firefox, go to "tools" and "add ons"....You can download an ad blocker that works quite well.

I can confirm that this isn't our popup. Sounds like some third-party junk.

Spyware !!

download and Run malwarebytes, see if it finds anything.
Check your add remove programs for loudmo or primawego. If either are there uninstall them.
