I'm Still around, I peruse the post and read the ones that appear interesting. Occasionally I'll reply but usually not often. I really don't know many of the newer members either. Maybe we should come out and say Hi to everyone and see what happens.

I haven't been around quite as long as you guys, but long enough to see lots of new people join.
I was a member for quite awhile before I actually posted but I read alot.... and learn even more. |

I was here right after RBBO started in on this site. I get side tracked with different aspect of my life, so I'm not on here every day of every week. It's not unusual for me to not post for a month or so.

I joined around the same time as the trolls were at there peak. A time where the Rice guy "MR2????" gained respect from the majority of the "real" hotrodders.
Hey what happened to our seniority numbers? I think I was member #4520 something, I want those back. bonuts |

I know exactly what you are talking about. I originally found the site from a listing in a standard Rod & Custom magazine information service that highlights rod oriented websites. When I first logged in I couldn't believe 1) how decent the site was w/o the usual foul language, personal epithets, and teen oriented drivel, and 2) how close knit the group was. Now it has grown exponentially the way all good things do and it doesn't have that very special feeling to it. It still is the highest quality site on the web by far which I am proud to have had a part in developing.
As I always stress to the kids in our church youth group, relish in the good times 'cause they are very fleeting. No great thing lasts forever so it is our job to recognize them when they occur and take full advantage of them for as long as they last. If we do those two things, we have obtained full benefit 'cause that becomes a great memory that can never be taken away. OK, kill the violins, everyone is tearing up!

Well I guess I'm an olden. I was in the RBBO club when I was in my reborn hotrod 2nd childhood. You know I use to be into muscle cars (cause I was in that time period) when I was a kid and now that the family is getting almost grown up I can have a little money left over to play with old cars (my toys) again. Only this time I've gotten a little more serious with building my own.

hey monte, i remember the old times you and i started those original loooooooong topics about absolutely nothing and everything.
i was mia for about a year or so because a had a very bad year personally for a lot of reasons. and when i came back it was pretty much business as usual for me. there are a lot of new users here but its still a quality site. jon and all you moderators did an excellent job shaping this site and keeping it fresh. i do have a question though, how did that first trip to tenn. ever go off and was it successful?

you can tell I'm a total newbie by asking what is "RBBO"?
If someone would be so kind to explain it to me that would be great Mike |

rbbo stands for rods built by owners.it was a special section of the board that consisted of advanced rodders. they had thier own club within the board. i believe that a lot of bad politics sent it down the river. i wasen't a part of it .
