Cool How about some drag boat video? Great Sounds

I am new to this board. I have noticed a few regulars so I will introduce myself with some video links.

This is my lake toy. It is a 19' Cougar Tunnel Hull V-drive. It has a blown alcohol injected 509 Chevy. It has a GM block , crank and heads. It cruises around no problem. It would work OK on the street if not for 1,800 RPM idle speed. It runs mid 8 sec 1/4 mile at just over 130 MPH.

Enjoy these videos. If you have a dial up connection it will take a while to download.
Right click on one link, save it to your computer and then run it.

If you only look at one of them then look at Video 1

Lake racing at it's finest.

Driving a v-drive Cougar and holding a video camera. Only an Okie would try this.

Video 1: Ease into the throttle.

Video 2: Wide Open Start

<a href="http://members.cox.net/shotglass/Blast.mpg" target="_blank">Video 2</a>

Video 3: My personal favorite. My 9 year old son likes to cruise at the speed that pushes your face back. He laughs at me because I have more skin than he does.

<a href="http://members.cox.net/shotglass/face.mpg" target="_blank">Video 3</a>

My son on a tube behind the Cougar:

These are all the videos that I have web space for. Enjoy !!

ive never gottin a response when ive said anythin about boats but thenagain im not burning alcohol.my norris craft with a 200merc has a top speed of 90 and at that speed its quit a handfull. i really wish i had spent the money on a more stable hull. im in the proses of downloading not one but all of your movies as i write this.and i woud like to email you with some curiousity type questions about your boat if thats ok with you.i dont know anything about inboards but for outboards 19' is a pretty short boat(hard to keep on water)for that much power.

how stable is your tunnel hull at speed. im curious because ive never driven a tunnel hull(ths is where you offer to lend me your boat)lol.
but 130mph sounds extremly fast on the water-in comparison the record the last ime i check for an out board bass boat was 113mph by an allison craft. i just watch your full power blast video(the rest aernt done yet) and the sound of that motor is almost pornographic.lol.ps i like the driving of mass amounts of horse power with sandles.lol

Sandles are because I have to work a very stiff pedal with the left foot.

I was driving with one hand and holding the camera with the other. Sandles was the easy part.

It is very stable. It was built as a lake boat. Fairly heavy 700 lbs or so. Not a potato chip hull as they are called.
