Like freethinker said you need to get a tech sheet or call the paint jobber.

In last year or so a number of the high grade bases have finally came out and said you have an indefinite re-coat window, everyone has known that for years but some of the companies have now made it official.

If you used activator in the base that will also change things, so let the jobber know, when you ask the question.

Also there are one or two crap bases that you cannot sand and re-coat without paint falling off, so you need to hope, that one of those bases are not on your car or you can start stripping.

I know what you mean Barry, I have experienced that one. But how much does it change when activator is used with the base?

basecoats normally need to be cleared within 24 hours.

Best bet is to scuff it over, spray another couple of coats of base and then clear.....the same day !
