Do you alreayd have a crank most ppl no adays use custom aftermarket 383 crank. They are so cheap i would not bother to get the block lined bored and have the crank turned down.
For under a grand you can buy a complete balanced rotating assembly from scat or eagle ready to drop in. 400 crank will require the rods and new pistons be balanced to support the 383 combo. Best to buy a crank kit with the correct sized journals.
But you can get the crank turned and just buy 383 pistons with the correct installed hieght. But you will need to get it balanced at the machine shop. In my local area machine work is very expensive its almost always cheaper to do the work at home with parts that fit what in have. I try to stick to drop in ready if at all possible. Just have the bores done. If it needs lined bored i just crap another block from my secret stash.
Hope this helps. If you want part numbers just check the forum this question has been answered several times.
