How can I find application for a part number

I have hundreds of NOS GM parts in the boxes. How can I identify what they fit and what years they fit and in some cases what it is. Ex I have group 8.890 Part# 994317 What is it and what does it fit and what years?? There must be a web site where I can type this info in and get what I want out... Right?
