how can i tell if i have a posi rear end??

is there a way to tell if i have a posi rear end without burning some rubber?

Ya jack the rear end up and turn one tire and If both tire turn then it has posi or take the rear end cover off and look inside. Or roast the tires that best way to check

If both turn THE SAME WAY is the key here. if one turns opposite from the other then it is not posi

If you jack up both wheels and can't turn them without taking it out of park or taking it out of gear it is a posi . Also as previously mentioned , If it is in park or gear and you turn one wheel and the other goes in the opposite rotation it is NOT a posi .

The only sure way to tell is to remove the cover and look at it. Any other way can fool you.

thanks ima jack it up to check later i kinda dont want to take the cover off cause i couldn't find a gasket for it when i drained it like 8 months ago so i made one, and its been holding up but i dont wanna mess with well enough......


if its not a posi how much is the upgrade going for?
