How to carpet my trunk lid/deck

I want to carpet the underside of the trunk lid/deck. I did a search, but did not find any threads on the subject. So, any ideas, thoughts? Anyone do this? My car is a 1961 Impala 2-dr.

I would do it like a door panel and attach it the same way..the edges of the carpet could be bound and the carpet glued to the whatever board you used for backing..
