How close is too close for proximity of exhaust manifold to polyurethane bushing

The exhaust manifold I'm using is in close proximity (output of #2 cylinder) to the polyurethane bushing of my C4 suspension (upper right front upper A-arm)

It is 7/8 inch gap. I would like to run it even closer. I may put a heat shield between.

What is the closest you have run the header tube to polyurethane with no heat shield? Prefer someone who has driven this way several seasons with practical experience, no premature failure of bushing.
