How to convert vacuum windshield wipers to electric

There have been several threads lately asking about hiding ugly firewall mounted wiper motors under the dash or replacing sickly vacuum wipers with modern electric ones. Of course there are several after market kits on the market to do just that but they are quite pricey; a kit for this and a kit for that and pretty soon your rod is costing $$$$$$$$. Also, I am a firm believer that to be a real hot rod, I need to do as much of the work as I possibly can using as much junk yard parts as I possibly can.

I posted a how-to in my journal showing how I use VW bug wiper systems in my rods. I have installed a bunch of these and they are as close to a kit as you will get!
