Question How crappy would a motor run if.......

I was wondering how a motor would run if it was built for a supercharger(8.5-1 comp, cam with 112-115 lobe seperation), but was ran with a 4 barrell intake N carb untill I could afford the blower? Id like to go this route, but will it run like doo doo? HG

I have heard of a lot of people doing that...*****, I even did it for a while, it won't run bad, just won't be runnig to its full potential.

i wouldn't be too worried. if i've been paying attention to your posts, sounds like you've got many, many parts kicking around. maybe you could get some smaller cc heads to run on there until you get the s/c and then switch'em back.

I think you should seriously check out the latest issue in Car Craft. They dyno'd a Vortec headed 350 with a 4 barrel with 3 different cams of the same duration except different LSA (108, 110, 114 I believe). There was not a tremendious power lose between the lowest and highest and they picked up better vacuum with the bigger seperations. I think it would probably run pretty well, but like drgnwgn289 said, probably not at its full potential.
