since the 50's the trick has always been to remove the window and make a good pattern from it. some use cardboard . i always make a fiberglass pattern. after the chop cut and fit the pattern to the opening then cut your glass to match.
This idea was probably the first one i heard of 45 or more years ago.It worked really well. I remember a 57 ranchero we chopped. We as kids lost 4 w/s in the process think back a minute and remember how the end of the glass wrapped around the corner, then the A-pillar came back .and back around again towards the center of the hood. The bind. we had was causing the cracks, The glass i rmenmber was being reproduced in africa but we paid a $100.00 for w/s's frm texas.that was a lot of money in the late 70s.
