Post how to delete a post on here?

I am trying to learn how to post a pix to the site. Now i have a post that will not open to a pix.I tried to edit it out but no joy. Can i delete it out?
I seem to be having trouble with the whole process. I have windows 2000xp. When i go to the pix i click on it then right click, select properties, right click on the address(it highlights) ,right clik again and select copy. At this point nothing happens, so i select ok. then i open up the window here select new topic, and nothing happens, nothing appears at all. Could one of you really spoon feed me this process again? Kevin45 has tried,(thank you Kevin) but i am missing something along the way. Thanks to all of you for your patience.

Jon i am trying to post a pix to this site from webshots. Please don`t get to concerned as i am trying to learn how to do this. It is an educational exercise for me. I will stay up late when there are few on the board and try some more. what i have been trying to do is post a single pix with my post. In the body of the post. [img] ]http://community.webshots.com/user/push99320[/img] I can get this to link to the pix, but i want to learn out to post a single pix to the body of a post. Thank you for your time Jon. You sure do a good job here.

This here:

http://community.webshots.com/user/push99320

is a link to a webpage, not a link to a picture. Picture names typically end in ".jpg" or ".jpeg" or ".gif" or ".bmp".

Here is the problem. That little image of your two trucks isn't just a pic. It's also a link, that links to the larger pic of those trucks. Links can be words, like this: click here for Hotrodders.com, or they can be pics or graphics, like this:

The problem is, when you right-click on a pic that is also a link, like the image above, you can potentially get two pieces of information. You can either get the link to where that pic points, or you can get the actual pic name. Give it a try on the image above. The link where the image points is http://www.hotrodders.com, but the image name is: http://hotrodders.com/images/hotrodders_small.jpg.

When you are right-clicking on an image that is *also* a link, you must be certain that you are selecting the correct option from the little menu. I am using a Mac, so the screen will look a little different, but here is an illustration of what I mean. In the first pic, I'm copying the link location, which is where I would go if I clicked on that image. In the second pic, I'm copying the image location itself. The little menu will look different on Windows XP, and I don't use that operating system, so I can't help you exactly, but, hopefully, this will show you what I mean.

Here I am, incorrectly copying the link location.

Here I am, correctly copying the image location.

I think what's happening is that you are copying the link location, then trying to post it as a pic. The board gets confused, because it knows that is a link, not a pic.

Confused yet? Maybe a Windows XP user can jump in and clarify this for us? Then we can refer the hundreds of other people who do the same thing to this thread .
