how do i change the resistance wire that runs to my dis?
 

i have a electronic dist. i have been told that if i dont change the resistance or main lead wire on it i will only have 9 volts going to my dist. is this true i had a points ign before now.
my new ignition is a ac delco so what to do?

You have to replace that resistance wire with a 10 or 12 gauge wire so that your distributor will get a full 12-13 volts it requires otherwise you may damage the module or at the very least get inferior performance. I just pulled the old wire out at the firewall and replaced it with a 10 gauge wire.
