How do I get rid of my cruise control?

I have a 1981 Camaro. It had a 267 in it, and I swapped it for a 350. The car came factory with cc, and I believe the speedo cable goes from tranny to cc unit, then up to the speedometer. Can I run it from the tranny to the speedo unit like a normal vehicle and then remove the cc unit? Thanks for the help, Bill

If you don't want the crise remove it it run a longer cable. You might need to change the drive ratio for the speedo in the trans to get an exact speed, but any competent tranny shop can do this.

:D

Just find a Camaro the same body style as your that does not have cruise and get the speedometer cable out of it. Grease it up real good......it is 20 years old...amd install it in your car.

The speedometer will be correct IF it was correct before. Cruise has NOTHING to do with the the speedometer gears in the transmission :D
