I should add, at least you had an excuse. I just forgot to read the paperwork that came with the cam the first time I came across this. It wasn't pretty running at break-in rpm's with the firing order off and open headers.

Note the distances between the water pump bolt hole and the deck of the 302 (top) and the 351W (bottom).

hey, good one mstgjoe. I've never seen that one before, seems like a pretty easy way to ID a windsor.

BTW--the 351W came in 2 deck heights---9.2 and 9.5 and the intake is different for each! With a speacial spacer you could make anything fit but otherwise a 302 and 351 W intake will not exchange.

Actually according to my info 69-73 351W were 9.480, 74-77 were 9.503 (extremely close).
The smaller V-8's were 8.206 (a noticable difference).
Now I don't know about you but my eyes can't see 23 thousanths of an inch, but they can see the difference between 8.206 and 9.5 (over an inch).
Here is the link to the website with this info, they are a reputable site. Kelly's Hotrod

If you have any other info with regard to deck heights and multiple 351W intakes (which I've never heard of) please post it.

Ahh, No, The 351C has the 9.206" deck height...
Easiest way to tell is by the heads...but that's
already been stated, the other way, also has been
shown with pictures, but most guys I know can tell
the difference in the intakes...
