How do I paint here?

The door jambs have those stickers. I have been told to just tape over them. But how clean an edge will I get if I just tape over them?

Is there another way?

Get new stickers, but that can be a hassle with serial number ones and such.....Maybe the pros here have an idea, Must be a common problem with these guys

Put your masking on as accurately good as you can, to avoid covering any of the jam. Trim off any overhanging tape with a #11 xacto blade. Should be fine.

I've had good luck with the green 3m and not applying lighter coats to keep the edge down.
