They probably wanted a $50 deposit- that's returned to you when you return the undamaged tool.
In any event, try another parts store or two until you find what you need. You can also ask for a
universal cam bearing removal/installation tool to use instead.
The bushing can be removed w/o a puller, but I hesitate to say to do it because of the chance of damage if it's not done right. If you want to search for more, I'd bet there's threads and even videos on it.
