How do I remove inner door handles 40 ford pu

Trying to figure out how to disassemble my inner door mechanisms on my 1940 ford pickup.it actually has a 46 cab but apparently they are the same.
Would appreciate any pointers.

If you're trying to pull the inner door handles off it could be like the inner door handles on my 51 Chev. There are U shaped clips behind the handle that keep the handle on the spline that is connected to the mechanism. There is a U shaped tool that gets inserted between the back of the handle and the door panel. This is used to push the clip off of the slot in the handle. In the past I have used a piece of mig welding wire with a small hook bent on the end to pull the clip off. Hope this helps.
