How do I replace U-joints on my Nissan 4x4?

Can someone tell me how to change the universal joints on my '83 Nissan 720 4x4? My problem is that I have an annoying squeak that increases with my speed. I was just told that its my driveshaft getting ready to fall out. I inspected my U-joints on my rear-axle driveshaft and the front U-joint (towards the tranny) looks decent but the rear U-joint (towards the rear axle) looks like its almost cockeyed and looks like a seal or two is worn. I don't know for sure on the seal part but almost looks off-center.

I tried following the AutoZone.com online repair manual but I didn't understand it too well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

just buy new u joints, remove the straps that hold the old one on and replace, pretty simple job, not sure if your ready for this if you can't figure it out, good luck tho

sometimes the bolts won't want to come out without a torch

I've seen it done, I'm just more of being curious what to do with the transmission or rear axle... like do I unbolt one or the other to move it an inch? I worked at a mechanic's shop and saw the boss do it once by him prying the u-joint out of the tranny end with a pry bar.

No special lubing needed?

you do not have to unbolt the transmission or the rearend, just the u-joint and it will come out.
